Core layers are 1/4" thick and can be frosted, transparent, opaque or patterned. Browse the selections below and explore just a few of the many options available. The Core Layer in a RAYDOOR panel is similar to the glazing layer of a traditional door with one major difference: Traditionally, a single door frame cradles a glass or wooden panel layer in its frame supporting it inside itself. The glass or wooden panel is then kept in place by a small molding nailed around the perimiter to keep it from falling out. In a RAYDOOR panel the reverse is true.

Our panel is made using 2 identical frame components that sandwich the Core layer in between. The frames are fused to the core and the core to the frames essentially turning the Core layer into a structural member of the panel and the entire system. The RAYDOOR core layer is always a semi flexible material like acrylic or petg resin and sometimes wood. The result of this method of construction is a strong, light weight, durable panel that is safer than glass with virtually the same sound insulation. Its design stand out in the way light refracts on the edge of the panel revealing its construction. As well as the absence of any molding line to interupt the frames construction which gives our panel the identical appearence from both sides of the room.
